Cody Bruns – President’s Volunteer Service Award Recipient

In 2003, the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation founded the President’s Volunteer Service Award to recognize the important role of volunteers in America’s strength and national identity.

This award honors individuals whose service positively impacts communities in every corner of the nation and inspires those around them to take action, too.

Cody Bruns, a firefighter in Onslow County, recently received the Gold Level President’s Volunteer Service Award (500+ hrs/yr) for his commitment to serving the community. When Cody is not at the station, he spends his time volunteering with Cardinal Hospice Care writing letters, providing companionship, and bringing joy to hospice patients. Cody spends time bringing awareness to the true meaning of hospice while attending events and educating the public. Cody says his passion for service was instilled in him at a young age, and he has always been inspired to give back to his community. Congratulations, Cody, on this high level of achievement, and we at Cardinal Hospice Care thank you for your dedication to our patients, their families, and our community.
