Honoring Those Who Served: A Moment of Gratitude at University Place

At Cardinal Hospice Care, gratitude is more than a feeling—it is part of who we are and how we serve. This Veterans Day, our team joined University Place Nursing & Rehabilitation in Charlotte, a Principle LTC community, to honor residents and employees who have served in the United States Armed Forces.

The event featured the North Mecklenburg High School Air Force JROTC Color Guard, led by Sergeant Summerville and Major Brown. Their tribute filled the room with pride and emotion. For residents who could not attend, the Color Guard visited each room and offered a personal salute. It was a simple act that carried deep meaning and reminded us of the power of respect and recognition.

As a Level 3 We Honor Veterans partner, Cardinal Hospice Care is committed to providing care that honors the unique experiences of those who have served our country. Recognizing veterans in the communities we serve across North Carolina is an essential part of our mission. Each event like this reaffirms our promise to care for every veteran with dignity, compassion, and gratitude.

We extend our appreciation to University Place and the North Mecklenburg High School JROTC for helping us celebrate the heroes among us.

At Cardinal Hospice Care, we believe coordinated, compassionate care begins with connection, and that includes honoring the veterans who inspire us through their service and sacrifice.

If you or someone you know is a veteran in need of hospice support, we invite you to reach out to Cardinal Hospice Care to learn more about our veteran-centered services and referral process.
