Make a significant impact by becoming a hospice volunteer.

How little acts of kindness from hospice volunteers make a difference.

Becoming a hospice volunteer can make a significant impact in a patient’s life— often through little acts of kindness. Cardinal Hospice Care volunteer, Leslie Sanchez took time with one of her patients recently to create rainbow friendship bracelets. “For me, it’s all about the connection with our patients,” said Leslie Sanchez. “I love the work we do including bringing joy and happiness and taking care of people.” The bracelets were Leslie’s way of helping her patient feel joy, especially when she is not feeling well— together, they decided ‘happy’ was the best word to include on the keepsake.

Leslie joined Cardinal Hospice Care April 2022. She is also studying at UNC Wilmington as a premedical student, with a major in Biology and minor in Spanish.
